The Sixth Affiliated Hospital (also known as the Guangdong Gastrointestinal Hospital) is China's top-ranked center for gastrointestinal and colorectal diseases. It is designated as the National Clinical Key Specialty for colorectal surgery and is the National Clinical Research Center for Colorectal & Anal Diseases. The hospital performs the highest volume of colorectal surgeries in China, with pioneering expertise in minimally invasive total mesorectal excision (TME), transanal procedures, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) management. It also operates a comprehensive stoma and wound center and an advanced pelvic floor center.
