What “Verified” Means Here
When you are choosing where to be treated, “verified” should mean something specific. This page sets out exactly what we check before an institution appears in the directory — and, just as importantly, what we do not claim to verify.
Official hospital grading
China grades public hospitals under the National Health Commission system; Grade III-A (三级甲等) is the highest tier. We record each institution's grade as published in official provincial registries and hospital disclosures, and link the institution's official identity (name, location, ownership type).
International accreditations
Where an institution claims JCI or other international accreditation, we check the accreditor's public register before displaying it. Accreditations that cannot be confirmed are not shown.
Zone and programme membership
Membership of special programmes — such as the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone — is checked against the zone's official participant lists and announcements.
International patient services
We record whether an institution operates an international department, which languages are supported, and how international patients are received — based on hospital publications and direct contact where possible.
What we do not verify
We do not independently audit clinical outcomes, infection rates or individual physicians’ results — no directory can credibly do that from outside. Reported outcome figures on this site are attributed to their source (the hospital or published research) and should be discussed with your own clinician. Listing here is not a medical recommendation, and nothing on this site replaces professional medical advice.
Keeping information current
Directory entries are reviewed on a rolling basis and when institutions notify us of changes. If you spot something out of date — a closed department, a changed accreditation — please tell us and we will check and correct it.
